VAN BUREN TOWNSHIP, Mich. -

Belleville Road has been shut down north of the Interstate 94 service drive and south of Tyler Road because of a gas main leak along the road in Van Buren Township.

A construction crew struck a gas main Tuesday night causing it to rupture. DTE Energy crews were at the leak.

It is not clear how long repairs will take. Police advise motorists to seek alternate routes until repairs are complete.
