EAST LANSING, Mich. -

Authorities say an Ann Arbor high school student was seriously injured after accidentally falling from a sixth-floor window at a Michigan State University dorm.

What happened

Campus police say 18-year-old Lexi Pew fell from a window of North Case Hall on the East Lansing campus about 3 a.m. Sunday.
"I heard glass shatter then I saw something white falling down," said Ustina Shives who lives on the 6th floor of the dorm. "After I realized it was a human I knew I had to call 9-1-1."

Her condition

She was taken to Sparrow Hospital for treatment and is listed in critical condition. She's undergone two surgeries already Sunday to mend her broken bones, and a family member says her lungs collapsed from the fall.

WILX-TV reports the young woman fell after tripping near a window while several people were playing a game of catch in a dorm lounge and broke through the glass.
WSU Police say: "[We] are investigating the accident and have found no indications of suspicious activity."
