Afternoon sun followed by rain and snow

Wednesday morning will have a few pre-dawn raindrops and snowflake that will not amount to much but keep some roads damp before sunrise.  Temps will be in the low and middle 30s.  The afternoon will be sunnier with highs back in the low 40s.

After midnight Wednesday night into Thursday morning, temps will remain near 40 degrees with rain moving in from a big storms steaming in from the west. 

A soaking rain will fall most of Thursday with temps in the middle and upper 40s.  Thursday night and Friday will turn cold and blustery with snow showers.  Some areas have a chance of receiving more than an inch of snow.  The wind will howl out of the northwest at 15 to 25 mph with greater gusts.  Areas the the northern Lower Peninsula will receive over 6 inches of snow.

Winter begins at 6:12am, Friday.

Winter's first full weekend will be cold and partly sunny with highs in the low 30s and lows in the low 20s.
