A piece of Detroit history is consumed by fire

Stagecoaching house dating back to the 1860's burns in Detroit

DETROIT – A piece of Motor City history has been consumed by flames in Southwest Detroit.

Tuesday night an old stagecoaching house that dates back to the 1860's was consumed by fire.

Residents were renovating the building, but nobody was supposed to be inside.

Firefighters worked to keep embers that blew across the street from catching a historic church from catching fire.

No word yet on how the fire started.
