98-year-old passenger killed in minivan crash

ASH TOWNSHIP, Mich. -

Monroe county sheriff department is investigating a fatal accident that occurred on Calkins road in Ash Township.

Ida Guyor, age 79, of Carleton,Michigan was driving a 2000 Pontiac Montana minivan around 4 p.m. Saturday.

As she entered a curve in the road she lost control of the vehicle landing in a ditch. The vehicle then struck a concrete culvert, rolling on its left side, resting against a utility pole.

Guyor's 98-year-old mother, Alice Stark, was a front seat passenger. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Guyor was taken to Oakwood South Shore hospital in Trenton to be treated for minor injuries. She's listed in stable condition.
