7 injured in Detroit hit-and-run Saturday night

6 passengers not wearing seat belts

DETROIT – The driver and six passengers of a 2003 Ford SUV were injured at about 8:30 Saturday night when the vehicle was either hit or cut off by an unknown silver vehicle travelling westbound on I-94 near 12 Mile Road, according to witnesses.

After the incident the driver of the SUV lost control of the vehicle and went up the embankment, rolling over and ejecting four of the people in the vehicle. All seven were transported to a local Macomb County hospital with injuries.

The silver vehicle continued westbound on I-94. Troopers are continuing to investigate the incident.

There were no signs of alchol in the SUV, but the driver was the only person in the vehicle wearing a seat belt.

The statuses of the passengers are unknown, but none of the injuries appeared to be life-threatening at the time of the crash.
