59-year-old New Haven veteran missing, last seen in Detroit

NEW HAVEN, Mich. -

The Macomb County Sheriff's office is asking for the public’s help to locate a missing veteran who disappeared after a visit to the VA Hospital.

Monday around 5:15 a.m., 59-year-old Richard Furdock was brought to the Veterans Affairs Hospital on John R Street in Detroit

According to personnel at the hospital, Mr. Furdock’s appointment was cancelled just before he arrived at the hospital. 

Furdock--who suffers from mental illness --has been missing ever since.

The group home where Furdock lives is located in the Village of Hew Haven. They report Furdock never returned home Monday.

He is 6-feet tall and approximately 170 pounds 

Furdock has brown eyes and cropped brown hair. He was last seen wearing a blue varsity jacket and blue jeans. 

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office at (586) 469-5151or the Sheriff’s Detective Bureau at (586) 307-9358.
