Fires started in middle home

DETROIT – Five homes on Garland Street were set on fire Friday morning in what police believe is a dispute between residents.

Arson investigators arrested a man who lives at 4511 Garland on Thursday on suspicion of setting his neighbor's car on fire. While he was being held and questioned his house was set on fire at around 2:30 a.m. Friday.

Investigators believe that the fires are connected retaliation fires. The five homes that caught on fire Friday started in the middle home before spreading to four unoccupied homes. They fires were not set individually.

There were no injuries reported from the fires on Friday.
