A four-day fundraiser that will benefit the family of a slain Clinton Township party store owner kicks off Thursday.

Basil Sulaka died March 28 when three masked gunmen stormed Moon Lite Party Store, shooting him. The 51-year-old had owned the store for 18 years.

He was married to his wife, Linda, for 21 years. Saluka left behind two daughters, 19-year-old Bianca and 17-year-old Kayla.

His family said the store had never been robbed before. Police have released several surveillance pictures of the gunmen.

The fundraiser starts at 5 p.m. Thursday and will run through Sunday.

Those who want to show their support can purchase a $5 wrist-band and receive $2 food and drink specials. There will also be a 50/50 raffles and donated items auctioned off.

All of the proceeds from the four-day event will be donated to the Sweet Basil Fund.

Donations can be made at any Huntington Bank to the account "Sweet Basil."
