Officers responding to a phone call request Saturday to check on the welfare of a woman living in the 23000 block of David Avenue found the side door unlocked.

When they entered the home they found  33-year-old Christina Lazanna dead, with a gunshot wound to the chest.

Police are investigating this as a homicide.

Lazanna was married and owned a successful business.

Police say they are talking to her husband through an attorney.  He is considered a person of interest in the case.

Police are trying to locate Lazanna's 2000 Lexus RX 300 SUV. It is white with gold trim around the lower body. The vehicle was taken from the home. The license plate is CHA 5821.

Anyone with information about the shooting or the whereabouts of the vehicle should call the Eastpointe Police Department at (586) 445-5100
