Three orphaned grizzly bear cubs that came to the Detroit Zoo from Alaska last year have made their Detroit Zoo debut.
Their new home:
Mike, Thor and Boo spent the winter "denned up" as they would in the wild.
On Thursday, the 14-month-old brothers met their public.
Where the cubs came from:
The three were orphaned in October and captured by the Alaska Department of Fish and Game after their mother was shot and killed by a poacher.
The bears were roaming the Anchorage hillside area until they were brought in by the state Department of Fish and Game.
One of the cubs arrived on Halloween and keepers named him Boo. His brothers were brought in the following weekend and named Thor and Mike.
The cubs have been fed a dog-food and salmon mixture.
Alaska wildlife officials contacted the Detroit Zoo after determining the cubs couldn't survive on their own.
