$20,000 reward offered to solve Ferndale store owner's 2010 slaying

Karim Khamarko found shot inside Dollar Club Plus

FERNDALE, Mich. – A cash reward of up to $20,000 is being offered to help solve the 2010 slaying of Ferndale store owner.

Karim Khamarko was found shot inside his store, Dollar Club Plus, on Nov. 26, 2010.  He later died at a hospital.

Khamarko owned the store for 10 years. He was known to many in the community as "Gary."

"He was the love my life for 34 years, and I wish it for was 50, 60, 70. What happened, it change our life completely," said Khamarko's wife, Ida.

He also left behind five children.

"The sad, terrible truth is that our father's life ended for absolutely no reason. Someone robbed our dad of his life and stole a devoted father from his family," said Khamarko's daughter, Candace. "It's been over three years and we want the perpetrator to know we will never give up fighting for our dad."

A cash reward up to $17,500 is being offered by an anonymous donor. Crime Stoppers of Michigan is also offering $2,500.
