2 suspected carjackers on run after off-duty police officer catches them in act

Off duty officer  tries to stop carjacking
DETROIT -

Two suspected carjackers are on the run after an off-duty officer caught them in the act.

According to Detroit police, the off-duty officer stopped at the Citgo gas station near Livernois and McGraw in Detroit Wednesday night when he saw two men pistol whipping another man outside of his truck. The officer identified himself, the men fired a shot and the officer fired back.

From there, the men took off in the victim’s vehicle and another vehicle. A short time later, the men ditched the victim’s car and got away in a white car.

No one was hurt in the shooting.

Anyone with information is asked to call Detroit police.
