2 critically hurt in Waterford crash

WATERFORD, Mich. -

Two people were taken to the hospital in critical condition after a crash Thursday on Sashabaw near Island Park Drive.

Waterford Regional Fire Department said the two people had to be cut out of their pickup truck by firefighters Engine 2 using the Jaws of Life.

Firefighters said both were critical at the scene of the crash and were taken to McLaren.

Officials said Independence Township Fire Department was also at the scene to help in the removal of the patients.

The driver of the other vehicle refused medical care, authorities said.
