Two young children have died after being pulled from a house fire on Detroit's west side.

The victims are a 1-year-old and 4-year-old boy.

The boys' father told Local 4 he had been watching the children but had stepped out for 10 minutes.

The boys' mother had been arrested the night before for a probation violation.

Neighbors said someone was seen throwing something at the home moments before it caught fire - possibly a Molotov cocktail.

The house fire was in the 16800 block of Prairie Street, which is near Six Mile and Livernois.

Local 4 is on the scene and will update the story when more information becomes available.
