2 accused of swiping cell phone from woman at McDonald's in Ferndale

FERNDALE, Mich. -

Two men were arrested this weekend in Ferndale for stealing a cell phone from a woman at a McDonald's off Woodward Avenue.

Police said suspects Deangelo Culberson and Allan Reed struck up a conversation Saturday with an 18-year-old Pontiac woman who at the restaurant - asking her if they could borrow her cell phone. But when she gave it to them, they took off running, police said.

Police said they found the men walking in the area of Woodward and Marshall. Culberson was arrested right away but Reed ran from police and was taken into custody in the median of Woodward.

The two are being held until charges are decided.

Police said Culberson is already wanted on a warrant out of Melvindale for assault with intent to rob.
