The biggest spenders have been the Democratic Governors Association and the Republican Governors Association.

Snyder's campaign is currently airing an ad that touts his accountant credentials and says Michigan's on the "road to recovery." The Democratic governors group on Wednesday released an ad featuring a teacher who alleges Snyder cut $1 billion in education funding.

The $1 billion figure has been discredited, though there were cuts in Snyder's first year.
