Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab , the so-called underwear bomber, was moved from Detroit to Colorado's supermax prison Thursday.
About the supermax
The supermax facility in Florence, Colo., houses 430 inmates. Among them is Unabomber Ted Kaczynski and Oklahoma City bombing plotter Terry Nichols. Some inmates are locked in their cells 23 hours a day.
Abdulmutallab, who is serving four life terms, likely will not be allowed to communicate with inmates or visitors.
Abdulmutallab is appealing his sentence.

The 25-year-old called the bomb be carried in his underwear a “blessed weapon” to avenge poorly treated Muslims worldwide.
The bomb didn't fully detonate aboard an Amsterdam-to-Detroit flight on Christmas Day in 2009, but caused a brief fire that burned Abdulmutallab.
He admitted afterward that the attack was inspired by Anwar al-Awlaki, a radical American-born cleric and leading al-Qaida figure killed by a U.S. drone strike last fall.
