"Spare Change" opens in Detroit, brings cast members of "Sparkle" to production

Theater production asks the question, "can we spare the change?"

DETROIT – National Award-Winning Director, Loren Harper is directing and starring in a new play, "Spare Change". The production co-stars Linda Boston also stars in the film "Sparkle", Whitney Houston's final movie.

"Spare Change" is about an old homeless man who pushes a cart full of his life belongings but still has more to give in the way of hope than anyone could have ever imagined.

"Spare Change" also stars accomplished actors: Darrin Gordon, Angela Mathis, Vanessa Anderson and Bertina Thomas, who are all in recovery. In addition, singer Powerhouse Gospel Singer Lydia Wrights, and Ursula Walker, who won Local 4's "Super-Singer Champion" and has performed all across the country and extensively in Italy, will be a part of the cast.

The play is sponsored by God's World and The Salvation Army.
