A mother only gets one first Mother’s Day, so it’s important to make it memorable. Here are a few tips to help you celebrate the day.

Take some time for yourself: Enjoy the holiday and use it as a day to pamper yourself. Leave the youngster with dad and allow yourself time to relax, sleep in, and do something you’ve been wanting to do for months but haven’t had the chance.

Plan a special family day: Plan a special outing for your family to make a memorable holiday. Commemorate the day with plenty of pictures.

Plant a tree/shrub: One way to mark your very special first Mother’s Day is to plant a tree, shrub, or even a rose bush, to mark your first year as a family. Watch the plant grow as your child grows.

Host brunch: Celebrate the day with friends and family by hosting a special Mother’s Day brunch.

Spend the day with your mom: A year of motherhood might make you appreciate your mom even more, so take the time on Mother’s Day to tell your mom how much you truly appreciate everything she’s done for you. Also, let her enjoy her first Mother’s Day as a grandmother.
