Red Wings No. 1 in NHL home attendance

The Detroit Red Wings played host to the Winnipeg Jets on Dec. 10, 2011 at Joe Louis Arena. Detroit beat Winnipeg 7-1. Detroit ranked No. 4 in home attendance during the 2011-12 season with an average 20,114 tickets sold for home games.

DETROIT -

At this point in the 2013-14 NHL season the Detroit Red Wings are No. 1 in home attendance with an average 23,780 tickets sold for games, accoridng to ESPN's latest attendance report and HockeyDB.com.

That figure includes the Winter Classic which drew more than 100,000 fans to the Big House in Ann Arbor. According to ESPN, an overall 546,943 tickets have been sold for Red Wings home games.

Last season, Detroit finished at the No. 3 spot in home attendance behind No. 1 Chicago and No. 2 Montreal.

The Red Wings have played 23 home games so far this season.
