DETROIT -

Detroit Red Wings defenseman Jonathan Ericsson will return to the team's lineup Wednesday in time for the Chiacgo Blackhawks game at Joe Louis Arena, according to the team.

Ericsson has been out of the lineup since Dec. 23 when he left the game against the New York Islanders with broken ribs.

The 29-year-old Swede has 9 points in 29 games this season with Detroit. He has become a reliable top-two defenseman with a +9 rating. He was averaging about 21 minutes a game before getting hurt.

Ericsson is one of six Red Wings named to Sweden's Olympic team competing next month in Sochi.

The Blackhawks and Wings faceoff at 8 p.m. Wednesday.
