The Defenders reveal why these local moms are so upset!

DETROIT -

Some local parents are mad at Disney Movie Studios for the portrayal of a character in the recently released Lone Ranger movie. They say the description of the character is offensive and in the end could lead to bullying.

The parents contacted the Local 4 Defenders, saying they were hurt about how a "bad guy" in the movie was given a cleft lip to make him look more sinister. The parents were upset because their children have cleft lips and palates and say it's their children who are going to suffer because of Hollywood's negative stereotype.

Disney did not immediately return a request for comment.

More information on the medial condition highlighted in Karen's story can be found at the Michigan Cleft Network.
