Chad Carr's brain tumor is 90% gone

"My birthday was two days ago, Christmas is coming up. This is a gift for both of those and all the birthdays and holidays forever to come," said Tammi Carr.

Ever since 4-year-old Chad Carr was diagnosed with an inoperable malignant brain tumor in late September, his mom, Tammi, has been asking for prayers.

The community has delivered in a big way.

"We've had people praying for him from everywhere," she said.

Those prayers from home and around the world are the only explanation Tammi can come up with for the news the family received Monday from doctors at Mott Children's Hospital. After six weeks of radiation, Chad's tumor is 90 percent gone.

"I asked what percent? She said 90 percent," Tammi said of the doctor delivering the news. "It's the best she's ever seen."

It's a Christmas miracle come early for this family that's been through so much over the past two months.

"Chad asked me why I was crying today," Tammi said. "I told him because I'm happy. Your boo boo is almost all gone!"

Chad is barely aware he's just about beaten something that just six weeks ago doctors called incurable. Talk about #ChadTough.

The family is still asking for prayers. They plan to enroll Chad in a clinical trial at New York's Sloan Kettering cancer center so hopefully one day he can be 100 percent cured.

To date, the #ChadTough fundraising campaign set up through the Mott Children's Hospital has raised more than $125,000.
