NORTHVILLE, Mich. -

So many children were absent at Silver Springs Elementary school in Northville Friday that the district will be scrubbing down the school over the weekend to help prevent illness from spreading any further.

A letter was sent home to parents today. It read:

Dear Silver Springs Families,

Today we had an excessive number of students absent at Silver Springs Elementary with reported flu-like symptoms.  As a precaution, our school building will have a thorough cleaning tonight and into the weekend using prescribed protocols.   We are aware that our attendance line is not working properly, so please contact the front office at 248-344-8410 to report your child's absence for today, if you have not already done so.

Thank you,
Melissa Hunt
Principal

  • A cough and/or sore throat
  • A runny or stuffy nose
  • Headaches and/or body aches

  • Fatigue
  • Nausea, vomiting, and/or diarrhea (most common in children)
