The Unify Detroit Coalition along and the Detroit Medical Center are presenting the Free Community Health Fair on Saturday.

The event will be located at Bethel A.M.E. Church, 5050 St. Antoine, in Detroit.

Organizers said the fair will provide attendees screening and testing for diabetes, STDs, high blood pressure, asthma, vision, cancer information and more.

"Many people are suffering from maladies that can be corrected with little complications if they are detected early," said Dr. William Revely, who is board Chairman of the UDC. "This event gives people the opportunity to initiate the process to better health."

Sponsors and participants include Michigan Basic Property Insurance Association; D.T.E. Energy; The Wayne County Sheriff Youth and Senior fund; CVS pharmacy; the Detroit Police Department; the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute; Team Mental Health; World Medical Relief; the Detroit Community Health Connection and others.

Nutritious groceries for low income families are provided by Forgotten Harvest.

The fair is scheduled to run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Both admission and parking are free.
