Groundbreaking for new Troy Grand Digital Cinema Thursday

TROY, Mich. -

MJR Digital Cinemas will host a groundbreaking  for their new MJR Troy Grand Digital Cinema 16, on Thursday at 100 E. Maple Rd.

The new MJR Troy Grand Digital Cinema will house 16 screens with 3200 seats in 76,000 square feet, and will bring 70 new jobs to the area. MJR expects to draw over 800,000 patrons per year to the site.

The MJR Troy Grand in addition to having all the  amenities you have come to love at MJR, including a preview screen in the lobby showing continuous movie previews, four auditoriums equipped to show movies in the high definition 3-D format, MJR's free refill policy on pop and popcorn, and their free, patron friendly, Movie Rewards Program.  However this new 16.0 million dollar project will have the MJR Epic Experience™ in one of the 16 auditoriums.  This large 440 seats auditorium will feature an 80 x 48 foot screen, over stuffed leather like loungers chairs with 56 inch spacing that are 3 to 4 inches wider than typical movie theatre seating, and the Dolby Atmos sound system.  This will be the best and most unique movie experience in Michigan.  In addition this theatre will feature the MJR Studio Bar & Lounge in the lobby.

This will put MJR's screen count at 148 screens in 9 locations.
