Actress Elaine Stritch, 89, passes away at home in Birmingham

BIRMINGHAM, Mich. – Elaine Stritch, the Detroit native and Broadway legend who moved back home to Birmingham in 2013, has died at the age of 89.

Stritch, whose acting career spanned six decades, is most well known from her regular guest appearances as defense lawyer Lanie Stieglitz on "Law and Order" and Jack Donaghy's acid-tongued mother on "30 Rock."

Stritch died at her home, according to the New York Times.
