Big Bird landed on NBC's "Saturday Night Live" this past weekend, although he steered clear of the fracas known as the presidential race.

GOP hopeful Mitt Romney sparked a firestorm in last week's debate when he vowed to cut federal funding for PBS despite his apparent love of Big Bird.

Joining Seth Myers at the "Weekend Update" desk, Big Bird declined to comment on the remarks, saying he didn't want to "ruffle any feathers."

He did say he got a million tweets after Wednesday night's debate.

When Myers asked if he was on Twitter, Big Bird replied, "No, I'm a bird. Tweeting is how we talk."
