DETROIT -

Motown’s Queen of Soul is opening up about her mystery health crisis of 2010.

In an interview with CNN, Aretha Franklin revealed it was a tumor that landed her in the hospital. She didn’t say where the tumor was.

"I had a tumor and that was taken care of and it’s behind me and thank God that is behind me,” Franklin said.

She had previously declined to discuss the details of the illness.

Franklin also said she lost more than 80 pounds during her recovery.

"I did from where I was, but I put about 15 or 20 pounds back on and I'm working to get them off now. It's an up and down thing,” she said.

Franklin recently announced her engagement to longtime friend Willie Wilkerson. It will be her third marriage.
