The Boston-Edison Historic District is an instantly recognizable address in the heart of Detroit, containing more than 900 homes constructed between 1905 and 1925, and range in size from modest two-story vernaculars to impressive mansions.
The district was also designated as a Michigan State Historic site in 1973 and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.
Down payment help, incentives for buyers
Houses will be available in a wide variety of styles and prices so all can have a chance to own their own part of Detroit history. In addition, the Wayne County Down Payment Assistance program will be offering all buyers $7,500 in a down payment assistance program to help preserve the Boston-Edison District. Also, in part to aid in this amazing community effort to restore one of the nation's most historic districts, DTC, Wayne State University, Henry Ford Health Systems (HFHS) and the Detroit Medical Center will be offering $25,000 to their employees in a work and live incentive program to help assist in the financing of their home auction purchases. There are also numerous grants available from the Historic Preservation Society to help promote and facilitate purchase for interested buyers.

There will be a pre-registration auction workshop available with RealEstateAuctions.com and First Merit Bank on Wednesday, July 9, at 3663 Woodward Avenue, Suite 130 in Detroit that will educate and assist prospective buyers on all the incredible programs available to them to help assist them in their participation and educate them on their available purchase options and programs for the live auction.

The live auction will take place July 10 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Dearborn Doubletree located at 5801 Southfield Expressway, Detroit.
RealEstateAuctions.com is offering these homes to the public in a live auction and continuing the grass roots effort already started by the mayor and City of Detroit to not only restore the Boston-Edison District but throughout the City of Detroit.
