V.I.C. performs live at UNCF Walk for Education

DETROIT – The United Negro College Fund (UNCF), the nation's largest and most effective minority education organization, announced that recording artist, V.I.C. will perform live during a Wobble Flash Mob in support of the UNCF 24th Annual 5K Walk for Education. 

The Flash Mob, which is being used to promote the UNCF's upcoming annual 5K Walk, will take place on Saturday, July 21 at 1 p.m. in front of the Belle Isle Band Shell. The organization is vying for the Guinness Book of World Records with the largest Flash Mob ever performing the Wobble.

Corporate supporters, clubs, organizations HBCU alumni, fraternities and sororities, as well as anyone who believes that "a mind is a terrible thing to waste" are all invited to support the UNCF. Participants are encouraged to arrive early to get a parking space - at least by 12:30 p.m. - and to represent by wearing their gear. The Wobble will begin promptly at 1 p.m.

"We're excited that V.I.C. is taking time to support this year's UNCF 5K Walk for Education," said Angela Bingham, UNCF Development Director and Walk Manager. "The Wobble is one of the more popular line dances today. His presence will help us to heighten awareness about the importance of education and the importance of providing assistance to those who need it."

There will also be an opportunity to register for the UNCF's upcoming 5K Walk that will be held on August 25 at 8 a.m. at the Belle Isle Casino.
