Meadow Brook Hall's 2012 Holiday Walk presents 'Puttin' on the Glitz'

Event runs Nov. 23 - Dec. 22

ROCHESTER, Mich. – You're cordially invited to celebrate the holidays in style.  Step back to an age of gilded opulence as you stroll through the iconic home of the automotive aristocracy...the Dodge-Wilson family...a world bedecked with dazzling jewelry, glamorous gowns and stunning decorations. Meadow Brook Hall's 41st annual Holiday Walk, November 23 through December 22 presents "Puttin' on the Glitz."

The Holiday Walk will shine, literally, with the sparkle of jewelry, the glamour of ball gowns and top hats and mementos of lavish celebrations. Join us as we highlight some of the most fashionable parties in history from the inaugural housewarming in 1929 to three generations of debutante balls. Hear about the memorable evening when legendary crooner Frank Sinatra serenaded Frances Dodge on her 25th birthday. See personal family photos of Matilda Dodge Wilson's 80th birthday celebration. Also - on exhibit for the first time - will be the dress Matilda wore during her term of service as Michigan's first female lieutenant governor.

New this year! Tiny teddy bears play hide-n-seek in boughs of the trees. Children of all ages can follow the clues and find the bears amidst the sparkling décor. The fun continues down a decorated path to Knole Cottage, the ¾ - scale playhouse in the woods built for Frances Dodge in 1926. Look high and look low, but be "beary" certain your children find them all to get their prize. At the end of their journey, they'll discover Knole Cottage "stuffed" with an incredible holiday bear display presented by the "Teddy Bear Lady," Judy Hall.
