NOVI, Mich. -

Donald Trump will make a visit to Oakland County. He will be the keynote speaker for the 2013 Lincoln Day Dinner held on Tuesday, May 21.

"I am honored to have the opportunity to share my thoughts and views with the Oakland County Republican Party and the great state of Michigan," said Mr. Trump.  "As the oldest, largest and one of the most influential Lincoln Day Dinners in the country, I could not have been more pleased to receive this invitation."

Chairman David Trott announced Trump's involvement in the Lincoln Day Dinner Friday.

"We are thrilled to have Mr. Trump headline this year's event," said Trott.  "The Lincoln Day Dinner is a tradition Oakland County has celebrated for 124 years, and it is only fitting that our keynote address is delivered by one of the most celebrated and recognizable entrepreneurs and philanthropists in the world."

Trump, who considered a presidential bid during the 2012 cycle, and was in fact leading in the polls when he decided not to run, is the pre-eminent developer of quality real estate both in the United States and abroad, and has made the Trump brand synonymous with excellence.

His portfolio includes dozens of award-winning skyscrapers, hotels, golf courses and clubs.

He is also an accomplished and best-selling author, and star and co-producer of the NBC hit series, "The Apprentice."

He is a graduate of The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

He currently serves as the chairman and president of The Trump Organization.

"This is the don't-miss event of the year for Michigan," said Jim Thienel, Oakland County Republican Party Chairman. "It is an honor to welcome Mr. Trump and his unyielding enthusiasm for Republican causes to Oakland County."

The dinner will be held on Tuesday, May 21, at Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi, Mich.
