Broken toes are common injuries that often occur when you stub your toes or drop something on your feet.

According to the Mayo Clinic, in most cases the broken toe can be stabilized by taping it to another toe. However, in some instances more treatment is needed.

The Mayo Clinic states that in the case of a severe fracture, a cast or surgery may be needed. Additional treatment is also needed if you break your big toe. Casts and surgeries are performed to ensure the toe heals properly.
