DETROIT -

If you're planning on bringing a phone or camera for photos at the North American International Auto Show, you may find yourself quickly running low on battery life.

When it's time to recharge your cellphone, and yourself, fear not. Several automakers' displays offer charging stations with comfy benches for you to take a break on while your digital tools refuel.

Chevrolet offers such stations it is calling "Plug Charge Chill" spots. Scion also has its own version of the charging spots.

The stations offer plugs for computers and chargers but also have charging cords for Androids and iPhones, etc. If you forget your own charging cord, don't worry, you’ll find one at the show.

It's a smart idea for the car companies as they get a chance to keep visitors at their display longer while helping them enjoy their stay. Moreover, visitors are less likely to head out of Cobo Center when their cellphone battery dies.

Don't pass up the chance to plug in, sit down and chill.
