49K pounds of Johnsonville sausage recalled

Johnsonville Sausage announced a recall of its Turkey Sausage with Cheddar Cheese after the company determined that packages of the product may contain foreign material: pieces of gloves.

On its website, the company said about 48,907 pounds of sausage are involved in the recall and that no other products or flavors are affected.

Johnsonville Sausage said it has received no reports of injury or illness.

The Turkey Sausage with Cheddar Cheese product was sold in 13.5-ounce vacuum-sealed packages and can be identified by establishment number EST. P-34224 inside the U.S. Department of Agriculture mark of inspection, and has a best-by date of Aug. 20.

According to the company, the packages were produced on May 22 and were distributed to grocery retailers in Alabama, Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Michigan, Mississippi, Nevada, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee, Utah, Washington and Wisconsin.
