We've had such a great summer working with Local 4. Do you recognize the familiar sign in front of the building? It's what we pass everyday on the way to lunch.
What we saw behind the scenes during the live news. HOW COOL IS THAT?!
Rae has always wondered what it be like to do the weather, so she took to the studio to find!
Opps! Some one forgot to lock the door to the Local 4 control room, I guess Sam can be the Technical Director today!
Leah and Steve weren't sure where they stood on the topic (a mock conversation about the 2012 Olympics), but Rae was pretty stiff on the subject.
Look who's in the directors seat in the control room. Leah! Being a screen arts major, she finds it awesome how Local 4 directs live news.
Check out this camera capturing the live 5:00 pm news!
There are so many buttons in the Local 4 control room, Andrew couldn't help himself, he couldn't leave without pressing just one!... luckily nothing blew up!
Rae felt like she was on a spaceship the first time she saw the audio board. Here's a fun fact, in Star Wars when they powered up the Death Star they showed an audio switcher from an audio bored.
Rae and Andrew come across the Local 4 weather Ipad and can't wait to see what's inside!
Carter took a different route and joined the internship late because lucky for him he was on a study abroad trip in London. While he was there he updated us on how his trip was going, and how London was preparing for the Olympics. CLICK THIS to see a video of what Carter was up to.
Andrew thinks he can hack it, but he's no Devin Scillian!
We never knew how much work it took to put on the Firework show for Local 4, until we were invited to the production meeting.
Andrew made friends quick at the Local 4 rooftop party, and had a great time watching the fireworks. CLICK HERE to see behind the scenes of the rooftop party!
They're at it again! The silly twosome Steve and Andrew were always working together editing and creating videos for the ClickOnDetroit website. CLICK THIS to check out their favorite!
Leah and Steve got the chance to check out the Summer in the City program in Detroit. They paint murals, clean up gardens, and chaperone kids. CLICK HERE to check out some pictures and interviews.
Leah and Rae got the real scoop about the Canton Cup from the players themselves. CLICK HERE to see her video!
Camera, Lights, Action! Wait a second that's not Carmen and Devin. Looks like we have some new anchors, Rae and Carter!

In digital media we are always sure to keep a balance of hard work and fun!
We've heard you haven't experienced Downtown Detroit fully until you've experienced Hart Plaza, So we decided to check it out and so what all the fuss is about!
The "Spirit of Detroit" Statue is unique Sam and Rae couldn't wait to read all about!
We have the Spirit, the "Spirit of Detroit" that is!
For some of us interns it was the first time seeing the Joe Louis fist. It's an awesome representation of the strength Detroit has.
We heard about the "Gateway to freedom" Statue in Hart Plaza and set out to find it... and we did!
As we were walking back to the studio from Hart Plaza we took this sweet shot of the GM building. Beautiful ain't it?
$0.75 a ride made the people mover a common attraction for these interns that made $experience per hour.
Taking in some sun in the heart of Detroit.
We found Lafayette Green to be quite relaxing and often stopped to admire the garden!
It was a long day editing, so Andrew and Steve took a nice break. They said the fresh air and beautiful summer colors at the Lafayette Greens Urban Garden were great inspiration for one of their pieces...We think they just wanted to go for a walk together.
Meet Andrew and Steve's new orange friend who resides in Lafayette Green a urban garden located just a block away from the Local 4 station.
